Dan, a Vancouver-based filmmaker, began documenting live music and performance art in 2011 while managing an underground DIY venue. His work has contributed to award-winning documentaries, including 'Hayashi Studio' and 'Yintah,' set to premiere on CBC after winning the Cannes Marché du Film's 'Think-Film Impact Award.' "I feel blessed by the relationships I've formed through my involvement with VIDF beginning in 2020, when they adapted their performance season to livestream. Having grown up in a small-town dance environment, it's been a joy to be reintroduced into dancer space, interpret choreography, and blend movement & cinematography." Dan has collaborated with dance artists such as Kokoro, Company 605, Josh Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY, Dreamwalker Dance, and thrilled to be invited into Dance//Novella work
