Richard is originally from Rochester, NY where he began his dance training at the age of 7 in competitive dance. He continued his education and training at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Richard has danced with contemporary and classical companies such as Hubbard Street 2, Oklahoma City Ballet, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery and Ballet X. He has performed works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Penny Saunders, Ma Cong, Twyla Tharp, Nacho Duato, Amy Seiwert, Jorma Elo and Cayetano Soto. In the Summer of 2018 Richard moved to New York City to pursue a career as a freelance dancer and choreographer. He has been a member of Broadway Dance Lab directed by Josh Prince and numerous dance film projects by Andrew Harper, including a music video by Violet Sands “No Matter What” and “New York Moment”, which was an official selection of the 92Y mobile dance film festival. Most recently he performed with Patrick O’Brien Dance Collective for a full evening immersive dance performance made possible through CUNY Dance Initiative grant.
